In 1998, we began spending our days helping our mom take care of our ailing father. He was having a lot of trouble walking, getting out of bed, getting into the car and pretty much doing everything. We spent our days going to dialysis, physical therapy and generally helping care for our dad. The rest of the time was spent quilting.
In the middle of all of this, our dad suggested that we start a business that we could do while we "waited for him to need us"- it was natural to start a machine quilting business. And that's how Nana's Capo Beach Quilting was born! Our dad and mom gave up a room in their house, that became our studio. We bought a Gammill classic machine with a 14' table and in 2000 we started our machine quilting business.
Our business has grown since then from strictly machine quilting to the launching of our online business including Moda fabrics, fat quarters, quilt kits, baskets from Ghana. Reproduction vintage state tablecloths, kitchen towels, rugs, aprons and notions. Our retro holiday items are really cool! We carry a variety of patterns- including patterns we have designed ourselves, our first pattern was called "Bricklayers' Daughter", for our dad, a master brick mason.
Our dad has since passed away but we still spend our days in our studio, keeping our mom (known to all her grandchildren as "Nana"
