We love the Blue Underground Studios quilt patterns for their clean modern design lines, easy sewing construction and dynamic color possibilities. The modular construction lends itself to creating quilts of various sizes—from small baby quilts to larger bed-sized beauties. You can create scrappy magic—or develop a fabric design plan. Patterns included quilters’ tips, clear instructions and illustrations making them perfect for both beginners and experts alike.

Above is a picture of part of the quilt we made from this pattern. We put it up in our booth at a recent quilt show and we sold out of the pattern on the first day! We put it up without even quilitng it...when it gets quilted it will be even more eye-catching!!

Any day spent sewing, is a good day!

Apron French General by Moda Home

Young French girls embroidered their initials on their finest linens.
The initialled letters were always blood red because red was a strong and durable dye, resistant to multiple launderings and one that could be easily seen.
During laundry days at the lavoir on the river, the initials also helped sort family linens.

Cotton/Linen embroidered apron. Great shop apron to wear while crafting. Contains 3 pockets and needle and thread. to personalize. Measures 20"x 12 1/2"

Patterns of History by Barbara Brackman Fabric Sale

Category: SALE
Posted: 2009-07-07 22:47

Patterns of History, a collection of authentic
reproduction fabric by Barbara Brackman. The prints in Patterns of History are based on antique fabrics from the 1930s and '40s,
the heyday of the Star’s old newsprint patterns that are so collectable today. Each print is named to honor a
Midwestern quilt pattern designer, such as Ruby Short
McKim, who initiated the Star’s own column, or Aunt
Martha, whose designs appeared in newspapers around
the country. Just like it was back then, the theme of
the prints is simple orals over geometric backgrounds.
Pansies and roses oat over plaids and polka dots in
either authentic old pastels or a palette of moda’s signature updated shades.

http://www.nanascapobeachquilting.com/blog/upload/cutting%20yardage%20003.jpg

We spent the afternoon cutting yardage for our next quilt show. We will be selling tons of pre-cut fabric in 1 yard cuts, and fat-quarters. Last year we spent most of the time at the cutting table, cutting yard after yard of fabrics, so to avoid this almost all of our fabrics will be pre-cut.

We set up a nice assembly line in the patio and began our cutting and folding.

My favorite fabric today was all the Art Gallery Fabrics! They are so beautiful to look at and to touch. I can't wait to use some of this beautiful fabric in a quilt or apron for myself.

Be sure to come by our booth at the International Quilt Festival Long Beach, July 24-26, 2009

We will be cutting & folding again tomorrow!
